Shenny De Los Angeles is a Dominican-American Interdisciplinary Spoken Word Poet, Writer, and Director. Her work centers the sacred lives of Black and Brown Caribbean femmes. Recently investigating more of her hometown of Kissimmee, Florida; Shenny is diving into her curiosity with the complicated beauty that is the South.

Her docu-short, “the ritual to beauty,” is currently available to stream on The New Yorker. They have taken part in New York Artist Residences and Programs such as Harlem Stage WaterWorks, Mabou Mines SUITE/Space Artist, and Brooklyn Arts Exchange. She has also been commissioned by The Latinx Playwright Circle, Ceremonia, and Latina Magazine, to name a few. Currently, after creating a proof of concept being a part of the 2023 Netflix x LALIFF Inclusion Fellowship, Shenny is developing her first feature film, “sisters by water,” centering two best friends’ relationship to healing generational fears.
